This policy explains how Casual Development ("we", "us", "our"), a web design studio run by Yossef Taha and based in Ireland, collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit casualdevelopement.com, contact us, book a call, or become a client. We are the data controller for that information.
We keep data collection to the minimum needed to reply to you and deliver our work. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use advertising trackers.
Separately from this website, we sometimes contact local businesses that have no website to offer our services. For this we process publicly listed business contact details (business name, public email or social page, address) under our legitimate interest in offering a relevant B2B service. Every message includes an easy way to opt out, and if you ask us to stop or to delete your details we will do so promptly. Email yossef@casualdevelopement.com to opt out.
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote or demo | Steps to enter a contract at your request; consent |
| Schedule and hold calls | Consent; steps towards a contract |
| Deliver, host and support your project | Performance of our contract with you |
| Send invoices and keep required financial records | Contract; legal obligation |
| Keep the site and our systems secure and working | Legitimate interests |
| B2B outreach to businesses with no website | Legitimate interests (with opt-out) |
We use a small number of trusted providers ("processors") to run the site and our work. They process your data only on our instructions:
| Provider | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Netlify | Website hosting and server logs |
| Formspree | Delivers project-form submissions to us by email |
| Calendly | Call scheduling |
| Google Fonts | Serves the site's fonts (receives your IP address to deliver them) |
| Notion | Stores our client and enquiry records (our CRM) |
| Microsoft 365 (Outlook) | Sending and receiving our email |
We may also disclose data if required by law, or to a professional adviser (for example, an accountant). We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
Some providers above are based outside the European Economic Area (for example, in the United States). Where data is transferred outside the EEA, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Under the GDPR you have the right to: access your data; correct it; erase it; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting processing already carried out). To exercise any of these, email yossef@casualdevelopement.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Irish supervisory authority, the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, hashed passwords for any logins, and reputable providers to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to guard against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
Our services are aimed at businesses and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be reflected here.
